Eddy Gee - Following The Right Tracks
Eddy Gee took hold of a guitar for the first time at the age of 11, and has not stopped playing it ever since. His mother, who played and sung for herself, thought him his first chords and thus spoiled little Eddy for the rest of his life.
Somewhere halfway the seventies, Eddy discovered rising Country star John Denver and from that moment on his Countrymania became a fact. At the early eighties, Eddy -naming himself Eddy Gee- started his career on stage; from then, until his 36th, he played in several all-round bands and he performed as a singer/entertainer, with both tapes and orchestra.
He joined the Dutch country band Dorsley Edition for some time and for seven years he played with the Black Out Band which was based in the Dutch city of Almere. At that time this band, playing covers from the sixties and seventies, was very popular locally, but Eddy did not find the musical satisfaction he was looking for.
After the Black Out Band broke up in 1994, Eddy started to follow the right tracks and now, at an age where most musicians in pop music start to think of joining the Jurassic Park All-star Dino Band, Eddy is on the verge of a National Breakthrough.
According to music-connoisseurs, Eddy Gee has a very remarkable voice, alike to the sound of his main influence, American Country star Vince Gill, from whom Eddy plays some of his best songs. Others judge him the timbre of Eddy Vedder (Pearl Jam), the sadness of Michael Stipe (R.E.M.) and the emotional gasp of Don Henley (The Eagles). Besides Vince Gill songs, Eddy Gee plays songs of Steve Wariner, Clay Walker and The Eagles. This proves Eddy's plans to take a U-turn on the conservative Dutch Country roads.
At this moment Eddy puts much time into writing his own songs, and with success. He released his first album “There’s So Much That I Need To Say” in the Netherlands on October 10th 1998. The recordings took place at the Nixward studio in Almere, and among the musicians are his former fellow-musicians from the Black Out Band. One of the already recorded songs, "Moving Along" is expected to become a real smasher, especially in the German country-scene.
Eddy appeared as an absolute smash on the "Western Experience" festival in the Brabant Halls in Den Bosch. His performance there was broadcast twice on Dutch television, on Veronica's "Western Lifestyle", where he was announced as one of the most important new talents. Eddy also appeared on Veronica's "Call TV: de Winkel van Sinkel", where his outstanding performance was highly appreciated. In Germany, Eddy appeared on the television show "Keep it Country”.
On December15th 2008, Eddy released his new single “A Beautiful Memory” with “Couldn’t Sleep At All” as the second song. The music is played by the musicians of his band “Side Effect” and the songs were written by Eddy himself.
Looking to expand his exposure outside The Netherlands as well as wanting to focus on his songwriting and performing, Eddy was on the lookout for a company that would be able to take his name and fame across the borders. He has chosen Bold Unicorn Entertainment as the management company for worldwide representation. Bold Unicorn Entertainment will initially focus on promotion and bookings.
Eddy Gee is available with band, as duo or solo for performances in clubs, venues, theatres and festivals as well as singer-songwriter events. For more information on booking Eddy Gee please click here
